Installation of Surveillance Cameras in Elevators

Tedol Company is a professional surveillance camera installer. The licenses and certificates issued by reputable certification bodies confirm the competence of the company. Elevator security cameras are installed by highly qualified certified specialists. The specialists are guided by the State Standards of Belarus, All-Union State Standards and construction standards developed to improve the quality of the installation. Properly selected and installed equipment meets the set challenges.

Price

The CCTV surveillance camera installation price depends on the type of surveillance cameras, the specificity and complexity of camera installation, as well as installation options.

The cost of maintenance is at least 15 BYN per month. The surveillance camera installation price in the elevator is calculated and agreed with each client individually. The cost of video surveillance system is calculated based on design and estimate documentation (DED).

We provide our customers with video surveillance system design, installation, warranty and post-warranty service.

CCTV systems

More and more tenants of multistorey block of flats are striving to equip the elevators with surveillance cameras to efficiently monitor the situation in this technically challenging area. Installing cameras is legal and reasonable, but requires installers to fully comply with engineering and organizational aspects. Installation of surveillance cameras in the elevator must be coordinated with the majority of residents. So that the installation of surveillance cameras in elevators does not violate the privacy of a citizen, a picture shall be placed on the elevator door saying "Video surveillance is being conducted."

To competently organize video surveillance is a technical challenge that requires a rational approach and an efficient solution. A plan of installation, an estimate that takes into account expenditures, including the purchase of the device and related accessories, the remuneration of installers, and maintenance costs, shall be developed.

Choosing the equipment you need to take into account the specific features of the object. For example, for a residential house in Minsk, we developed a project where we implemented all the wishes of the customer. As a result, the area around the apartments, elevators and the surrounding area is under video surveillance with minimum effort.

There are digital-analog and digital CCTV security cameras. Digital-analogue cameras produce a resolution of 4K pixels and offer low level of detail and clarity of persons. DVR Based Video Security Systems require auxiliary components. If you do not need high image detail and super functionality, then such models are Ok. Another advantage of analog cameras is its low price. IP cameras are digital video cameras. They have wide functionality, support high resolution of shooting, absolute maximum image quality in low-light conditions. In most cases, these cameras support SD cards, cloud services and can store video to a computer. They are much more expensive than digital-analog models.

The camera shall be installed so as to cover the maximum area of the elevator car and not to interfere with the performance of the elevator and call buttons. The optimal location is on the ceiling near the wall opposite the elevator doors.
Choosing a camera in the elevator one must take into account the aspects as follows:

  1. Dimensions and strength and rigidity of structure. A vandal proof mini camera is a perfect choice.
  2. Design features. It is rationally to give preference to broad-spectrum camera.
  3. The principle of operation. It is preferable to make a choice in favor of a wireless device, to avoid installation difficulties associated with the design of an elevator shaft.

Installing cameras in elevators

The installation of security cameras in elevators has its own peculiarities because of cables that lift and lower the elevator car, and motor power. The area of an elevator car is limited and small, which imposes additional requirements on engineering capabilities and installation of the network devices.

Installation of video surveillance cameras in elevators of a multi-storey building is a technical task, which requires time and money. TEDOL experts have developed cost-effective scheme. The scheme includes an IP camera and a wireless repeater - a device that receives a signal and retransmits it. The camera transmits a video signal to wireless receiver by means of laser transmission. The wireless bridge is the most efficient way to transfer information from the elevator car camera to the tracking system. The wireless bridge has two points, one of them is access point, the other is a receiving and transmitting station. The transmitter for optics is mounted at the lower part of the elevator, and the surveillance camera is mounted in the ceiling of the elevator’s car and it is connected to the transmission device via a coaxial cable. The devices needed to receive and transmit laser signal shall be correctly synchronized and configured. They can operate within the area of 400 meters. The device setup is pretty straightforward.

The video surveillance system market offers a wide range of wireless equipment that operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

As practice shows, each elevator of a multi-storey apartment block needs a separate set of radio transmission devices. Since the 5 GHz band implies only direct visibility, so it will not be possible to use one receiving device and several transmitters in single elevator shafts.

Stages

  1. Preparing an individual solution for each video surveillance system;
  2. Project development, preparation of estimate documentation;
  3. Equipment and materials supply;
  4. Cable runs and cable installation, rough-in;
  5. Installation of cameras, video recorders, video servers and network equipment;
  6. Physical parameters testing;
  7. Initial launch and fault detection;
  8. Surveillance cameras calibration, focal length change, image correction;
  9. Testing of video surveillance system;
